About Us

Ralph Dowd, tax collector for the town of Collinsville owned and operated The Ralph Dowd Agency in 1878. Upon his death, Loretta Spescia, one of the first female insurance agents and longtime office manager of The Dowd Agency acquired the agency upon Ralph's death. The agency has been owned and operated by the Spescia family ever since. The Dowd agency was one of the first agencies to be appointed by the Hartford Insurance company. Today, we represent the Hartford Insurance company and several other major companies to assist in all our insurance needs .
